THE KITTEN TAMES A TIGER

TO MARRY A STRANGER is a lighthearted, Cinderella romance between a shy, tender young woman and a man with a wounded body and soul. Humorous moments, entertwined with poignancy, abound as Helen and Damian each find their true loves--in each other.

You will chuckle at the antics of this heroine as she de-cynicizes her man. You will shed a few tears as she accomplishes her goal and a healed and sinfully sexy hero emerges.

This is a romance to make you forget your rotten day and make you remember what's truly important in this world. Don't miss it!

Short and Sweet, but nothing to get excited about

Helen is a baby-faced 21 year old who is constantly finding wounded birds to rescue, stray animals, and people to nurse. I.E., the stereotypical romance novel heroine. When she stays for one night in the mysterious'love mansion' she accidentally runs into scarred news reporter Damien. Damien was scarred in a bomb accident while saving a boy's life in some unspecified Middle Eastern country. Is he her destiny?

I felt the story was short, sweet and predictable. Damien and Helen were attractively drawn. The dog was particularly cute, and I liked Damien's long hair. However, the story wasn't overly deep. There was no question whether these two characters would end up together. Towards the end, Helen is uncharacteristically judgmental and rude to the hero shouting at him that she hates wimps because he refuses to go back to his old job and return to New York. This seemed rather out of the blue to me. There is nothing graphic or violent in this story. It is suitable for teens.

For those with kindles it was really hard to impossible to see on the kindle with the 6" screen. I had to download it and read it on my pc. If you are considering it and want to buy it for kindle only, I would download the sample first. It was quite readable however on the pc.

Did I like it? Yeah, it was cute; however, it was also really average.

Romantic fantasy full of fun

I liked the mystery of the old mansion and the fact that our heroine is a 'rescuer' and the hero a scarred, bitter man who didn't have any desire to be 'rescued.' Great tension between the two. A sweet and satisfying read, and the first book in a clever trilogy involving three sisters and the charming way they meet their true loves, by way of a magical superstition.

About the Author
Rosalind Charlesworth, Ph.D., is professor emerita and retired department chair in the Department of Child and Family Studies at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. During her tenure at Weber State University, she worked with the faculty of the Department of Teacher Education to develop continuity from preprimary to primary school in the program for students in the early childhood education licensure program. She also contributed as a guest presenter in the Elementary Mathematics Methods class. Dr. Charlesworth is known for her contributions to research on early childhood teachers' beliefs and practices. She taught courses in early education and child development at other universities before joining the faculty at Weber State University. In 1999, she was the co-recipient of the NAECTE/Allyn & Bacon Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher Educator award. In 2014 she received the Legacy Award from the WSU Child and Family Studies Department in recognition of her contributions to early childhood education. Dr. Charlesworth has provided service to the field through active involvement in professional organizations and is currently on the editorial board of the Early Childhood Education Journal.

Excellent Child Development Text

A must read and have reference!

Hi! I live in Japan and am a children's language school owner. This book is a must read and important reference to anyone serious and committed to teaching children, particularly children as a life's work. I'm still working through the book (even on the train!) and I am now have a great new reference written from an expert in the field. It's like having a licensed co-worker along side with me! Thank you Dr. Charlesworth for your jewels of information, particularly over here in Japan!

I am glad I purchased it to have in my prepper library. If I were a constant or distant hiker/explorer, it would be invaluable. It was a lot to take in, especially for a non-medically trained person, but a good resource.

Students of Human paleoanthropology should look no further for complete synthesis of anatomical aspects that are proprietary to Hominids-because not only that full treatment is provided on such topics as diachronic trends in qualitative and quantitive development in anatomical features, but recapitulation that contains basic standards of anatomical reporting,complete terminology and also,with full recognition that one important propertes of locomotory system is in its mechanisms for body movement,so that this is not only descriptive work,but one that contains detailed account on anatomical pecularities of Human ancestors,thus providing non-analogues perspective on subject,in full recognition that it is sometimes wrong to accept uncriticaly paralels with modern Humans.Also,some histological aspects are mentioned.This book will provide students with full account on subject of evolutionary anatomy,perhaps one that could became most easily dull,descriptive work under some other concepts,but instead is excelently and logicaly organised textbook.

This book didn't solve my Photoshop problems.

I have been struggling with Photoshop 7, especially the use of the pen tool in creating curved lines. The Adobe Photoshop 7 manual was probably correct, but I could not follow the instructions successfully. After several days of work, I gave up and purchased the subject book, "Photoshop 7 for Dummies" expecting that the pen tool usage would be treated more clearly and simply.

Well that didn't happen. In the area of instruction in question, the subject book is basically a copy of the process in the original manual - even using the same figures.

It is useless to me. I have many years of product design experience and have built, used, and serviced computers professionally, and it seems clear that the authors did not have the beginner/dummy in mind at all... only wanting to get the required number of pages of copy into print.

For now, I am highly dissatisfied with this book. ...and still searching for help with my problem.

Edit months later: Well I eventually found the solution to my problem - from a friend. If the authors had the goal of helping "dummies" with this book, they would not have used so much ink and paper trying to be clever. It is clarity and simplicity 'we" need. And from someone who thoroughly understands the computer program - clearly not the people who filled these pages.

I bought this book hoping to learn how to use Photoshop's various functions and settings. I've looked up two so far - batch processing and screen auto resolution. Neither are in the book's index, which makes me wonder how much more is not explained.

Worse, it's too full of distracting cute you're forced to wade through. From the section, Resolving Resolution: "The Resolution value determines how tightly the pixels are packed when printed. It's kind of like the population density of one of those ridiculously large urban areas cropping up all over the modern world. Consider Lagos, Nigeria, which is a city of nearly ten million souls - more than London, Paris, or Shanghais. Lagos, in case you're curious, is the fastest-growing major metropolitan area in the world, with an annual population explosion of 5 percent. (If that doesn't sound so bad, consider that it would put Lagos at 33 million people in the year 2020, which would be more than Tokyo, the current topper.) The population density of Lagos is second only to Honk Kong, at roughly 150,000 people packed into each square mile (on average, that's 15 times as crowded as New York City.)" And it goes on and on.

When I want cultural geography lessons, I'll buy a cultural geography book. I don't have the time to wade through this kind of stuff in hopes I might eventually stumble across what I'm looking for. Few of us do. I'm sure I'll get something from this book, but I wish I hadn't bought it. Save your money.

About the Author

Kevin Serwacki was born in Nairobi, Kenya, deep in the heart of the jungle. His path as a writer was set when his illustrated essay titled "Kevin's Waves and Boats" was given an A and posted on the refrigerator door. The showing was a stellar success, and soon Kevin's empire dominated the refrigerator and had spread to the downstairs guest bathroom. He sits in a swivel chair, overlooking the city. There are other refrigerator doors and other guest bathrooms, and soon they shall be his. . . .

Chris Pallace is a dad, husband, writer, game designer, professional artist, amateur cook, and intermediate juggler. His own father once observed: there's the Easy Way, the Hard Way, and the Chris Way. The Chris Way intends to be easier than the Easy Way, but is almost always harder than the Hard Way. While admitting that that is true, Chris would like to point out that it is the journey he enjoys.
