I don't think his heart was in it

When Haggard came to "write" When the World Shook, he'd been dictating his novels for a quarter of a century, I believe. It was obviously easy to spin out the wordage with dialogue, and the dialogue in this one is about Life and Fate and the Beyond and so on, and isn't very absorbing. I've read something like 20 of Haggard's novels, and this would be one of the poorest half-dozen. I should say, though, that if it were by some other author I might rate it more highly. Haggard did much better elsewhere.

Loved this book........

Another excellent book by H.R.Haggard. Haggard was a real thought provoking thinker which he conveys in this writing. Really enjoyed this adventure with it's twists and turns and how differently the character's personalities as they were and what they believed but still were good friends. Henry Rider Haggard passed away a few years after this writing.

I love this woman. I usually give four stars but this guidebook is superb and is written by just one woman. It describes things that you don't get in Lonely Planet or Rough Guide-Especially an entire word and phrase section which covers the gamut of what I wanted to know how to say-AWESOME! She also includes easy maps-not those confusing city maps containing things you would never need but maps easy to read with laundry services! I love her! This guide gives a detailed history of the country and its diverse inhabitants and it describes in detail eco-tourism, budget options, staying with families with links to websites, off the beaten path destinations in cool mountainous regions which is exactly what I was looking for and city sights and night life. Thank You for this book!

I haven't had the time to spend quietly reading all the wonderful historical information

Book arrived promptly. I haven't had the time to spend quietly reading all the wonderful historical information, but I am looking forward to that day. If you like Estonia knitting and history, I think this book would be a great addition to your knit book library.

Don't Hate, Don't Love

The most interesting part of this book is the Estonian technique section. The selection of yarns used in the projects: socks, gloves, & mittens over & over again, is escoteric to say the least. I realize this book is dated & yarns come & go but even when this book was current only the Koigo Merino was (& is) widely available. No useful information about the yarns is provided which would enable the knitter to substitute--no wpi, no Yarn Standards. The author mentions the knitting of pullovers including the cast on used but no pullover project or photo or even a description is provided. There are only a couple of dozen of color charts all of which I've seen before. If I had had this book in hand before buying, I probably would've passed it by.

Drawing Straws: Tork, Sean Michael

Oh, me! Book 3 has been hard to read, because of Damon's illness, and also because I've seen it firsthand in my family. However, The author has done a masterful job of illustrating that love can conquer so many hurts and concerns. And these guys (I'm thinking of them as real, a testament to the author) are awesome! It makes me wish I could be part of such a group in real life. Love is such a beautiful thing, especially when four guys are involved! Thanks, Sean, for reminding us.

Absolutely amazing.....Although Damon is half way through his chemo sessions he still pushes to meet at the cabin to draw straws.....Tork is the lucky bottom....There isn't as much sex in this one as a lot of their attention is to look after Damon....I loved this one though...They truly are all meant to be together...A perfect story and next we'll get Damon who hopefully will be fully recovered x

Another great one! I just love this group of guys! I keep checking (not stalking) this author's FB page to determine when the next one in this series is to release. The whole series is worth the read and if you have not read them all by this author, get them now! They are HOT but the connection and love between these characters is fabulous. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

About the Author
Michael Whitman, Ph.D., CISM, CISSP, is Professor of Information Security at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Information Security Education, Coles College of Business. In 2004, 2007, 2012 and 2015, under his direction the Center for Information Security Education spearheaded KSU's successful bid for the prestigious National Center of Academic Excellence recognitions (CAE/IAE and CAE IA/CDE), awarded jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. Dr. Whitman is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice, and is Director of the Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. Dr. Whitman is an active researcher and author in Information Security Policy, Threats, Curriculum Development, and Ethical Computing. He currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Information Security. Dr. Whitman has several information security textbooks currently in print, including PRINCIPLES OF INFORMATION SECURITY; MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SECURITY; READINGS AND CASES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SECURITY, VOLUMES I AND II; THE HANDS-ON INFORMATION SECURITY LAB MANUAL; PRINCIPLES OF INCIDENT RESPONSE AND DISASTER RECOVERY; and THE GUIDE TO NETWORK SECURITY AND THE GUIDE TO FIREWALLS AND NETWORK SECURITY. Herbert Mattord, Ph.D., CISM, CISSP, completed 24 years of IT industry experience as an application developer, database administrator, project manager, and information security practitioner before joining the faculty at Kennesaw State University, where he is Assistant Chair of the Department of Information Systems and Associate Professor of Information Security and Assurance program. Dr. Mattord currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Information Security and Assurance as well as Information Systems. He and Michael Whitman have authored PRINCIPLES OF INFORMATION SECURITY, MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SECURITY, READINGS AND CASES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SECURITY, PRINCIPLES OF INCIDENT RESPONSE AND DISASTER RECOVERY, THE GUIDE TO NETWORK SECURITY, and THE HANDS-ON INFORMATION SECURITY LAB MANUAL, Dr. Mattord is an active researcher, author, and consultant in Information Security Management and related topics. R.L. Stine Books Are Always a Hit!

My 12 year old son has a collection of R.L. Stine's books in his room. So far he has a large number of the Goosebumps, Goosebump Horrorlands, some others I can't think of lol, and is now starting to read R.L. Stine's Fear Street books. I read these books as a kid and now I'm buying them for my kids!

If you're looking for a book of terrifying horror, this is the book!

This series of books is about ordinary children going into great, terrifying adventures. These children witness scary things! The horror, the evil, this is madness I tell you. If you need some terror and horror, this is the book.

I am an expert at books. I have 48 books at my house and I'm only eight. Every day in my class if I get a star, I get a new book. I'm in second grade and am reading at a level Q. I'm telling you that I have never ready a book scarier than this. The excitment in these books is awesome. It's the best book I've ever read. I'm telling you, this is the bomb!

In one book called There's a Warewolf in my Room, the character got chased by a warewolf. I loved it! The boy got bit and he transformed into a warewolf. It was cool and awesome at the same time. Then the boy bit his dad! Now he's a warewolf too. The three warewolfs went to the dog show, and ate all the dogs. Did they eat the people too? You'll have to find out!

If you're looking for a book of terrifying horror, this is the book. You should check it out. I can't believe the warewolf saves a kid's life in the end. Also, a big glob of bubblegum eats cars, people, and houses. I promise you this will scare you to death! If you like scary, creepy things that are nasty, get Goosebumps. It is available at your local stores, Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble.

In the seventh and final chapter of the Chiller House series, Andy, Sam, Jessica, Meg, Marco, and Ray find their selves trapped inside Horrorland at night. Jonathan Chiller had given all of the kids a free gift at his store and now it is time for them to pay. The kids must play a game of cat and mouse. There are six red boxes hidden all over the theme park. Inside each box is a green horror that will take them home, or so they thought. Chiller has other plans for them, he is hunting them with a crossbow. Will the kids survive Horrorland?

All the kids from the six previous novels return for the latest installment in the Goosebumps Horror land series. I liked that R.L. Stine gave the villain a back-story at the beginning of the book, but it made the character not scary, but silly. Teamwork is a big theme throughout the book, as the kids band together to escape the clutches of Chiller. Overall, it was a fun read, and an excellent edition to the series.

Easy as learning the A B Vs and 1 2 3s!

This is an exceptionally fast read with a lot of information. The information is not explained in a way that's too difficult to comprehend. It's extremely simplistic yet straight to the point. As I practice with my tarot cards, this book is a great tool to guide me in a simple fast way. I won't be reading pages of information on one card to understand the meaning. As far as part two of the book, the same applies. There is great information on the Wiccan way that I had no clue about - very interesting. Again, explained in simple terms.

I just love witchcraft and I found this book amazing one of the thing I wanted to learn was how to read tarot cards and this book is really meant for me. Witchcraft requires more than a potion to follow. Anyone can follow the steps of a spell, but not everyone will get results.you must enjoy or believe in it to get what you are looking for. This is a great book even for beginners

The book brings together an international array of scholars from anthropology, psychiatry, history, cultural geography and critical tourism studies to explore how the movement to, and through, the realms of exotic people, wild natures, subliminal art, spirit worlds, metropolitan cities and sexualised 'others' variably provoke emotions, peak experiences, travel syndromes and inner dialogues. The authors show how tourism challenges us to engage with concepts of self, other, time, nature, sex, the body and death. Through a set of ethnographic and historic cases, they demonstrate that such engagements usually have little to do with the actual destination but rather, are deeply anchored in personal memories, repressed fears and desires, and the collective imaginaries of our societies.
