I think of this book as a tool, just as I consider the various kinds of paint brushes, glues, and seam fillers as tools. The book sits on my workbench, inside a plastic display frame so that I can refer instantly to it during my practice sessions. While I have no doubt that my level of proficiency will not jeopardize the leadership role of Raymond Giuliani or Joaquin Garcia Gasquez, I am sure that my finished work will evolve as rapidly as time and practice permit. I am also sure that my level of enjoyment of the hobby will increase in an exponential fashion as I repeat the lessons presented in this excellent publication This book is highly recommended and well worth the price!

Good pictures but impossible to read text in places

Since the book is instructional, the text is important. It is HORRIBLY written in broken English, you cannot make sense of the instructions; no other way to put it.
The photographs are superior however and that is why I gave 3 stars. I cannot understand why the publisher could have spent a couple of hundred dollars to have someone actually proof and translate the text into readable English. Parts of the instructions read well but others are so disconnected and hacked up that you will be left wondering just what the author meant.
The book has paint guides which do give you detailed instructions on which colors to use for accurate painting and also has some good tips on modelling and adding details.

Poor translation, horrible text

Concepts in this book are good and the author is obviously talented but the text is horrible. It is virtually impossible to follow the flow and understand what is being said. The publishing company must not have bothered to hire a solid translator or proof reader. Very sad because this book could be an excellent learning tool. Best you can hope for is to pick up ideas and tips from the pictures.

Horrible translation

I was struck by the fact that the minimum rating available is one star; this product should have -25 stars, and here`s why: The quality of the translation is absolutely horrible, to the point that it becomes sheer frustration just skimming through it. I honestly believe that it has been translated automatically by some kind of free web service. I`ll send a lengthy e-mail to the publisher, but I thought I should post this here first for other customers. Beware, it`s a trap!
